We don't have to buy their lies. The balance is so far out of whack now, American companies offshore to save a buck, lying to the public about how much cheaper the goods are when happy foreign slaves make them. It's a lie. The stuff isn't cheaper. This lie allows corporate fat to continue to grow. The joke's going to be on them, I suspect. Since they have sold their souls for a quick buck. China and India have acquired the capacity that formerly belonged to America. We gave it away. And every day, the semi-skilled worker in India and China becomes more and more sophisticated. More and more clever. Smarter. Congratulations American business morons. You sold out yourself. You sold out your people. The good news is, once the people of India and China gain enough sophistication to resist working for such bullshit wages... things will shift. Those jobs are never coming back. Managers, executives, and accountants at big tech, big manufacturing, and big retail may sit pretty this year. Eventually, it's going to catch up with them. Justice can't be escaped. And for the American government... they have enabled this deflation of our capability. American politicians have lined their pockets to sell out the American people. Lobbies. Even our taxes are going directly to pay for chinese built goods. Never in my life have I imagined such betrayal. We can fight this. Big business and big government have declared war on America. It's time we reciprocate. To show strength. 1) Stop buying crap from companies that offshore. There has to be a counter-incentive 2) Hold government accountable. If they are incentivizing these companies to offshore and H1B displace American jobs - show them the light and show them the door. 3) If 1 and 2 don't work... We outnumber them. We just need to get smarter:) A time will come where the slighted will avenge the ugliness of corporate greed. It's inescapable. Since I graduated in 2002, I've jumped hurdle after hurdle trying to scale the ladder only to have economic churn keep pulling the rug out from underneath me. Eventually, you see that we're waking up from the American Dream, and you just go wild. I love the wildness. Its almost more American! This is our America. I have the same attitude. It MADE my day. I understood this sense of humor! Most of us who were laid off are people who worked very hard and are now in the boat we are in through no fault of our own. I think the entire work world has gone mad. Everyone changing jobs due to layoffs etc. every 2 to 3 years, constant starting over (usually for less money, vacation, etc.) and all the time wasted on continual job searches -- all that time and energy could be better used elsewhere. If it hasn't happened to you, you will never understand. Sure we all have to "move on" and get over it, and hide our true feelings on interviews and such. However, we don't forget. After losing my "long term" 15 plus years job, then working contract/temp/ etc. for over 8 years, then 4.5 years at a "perm" job I just lost, I now undertand that the majority of jobs are now a rotating door, and people are viewed as disposable as paper cups -- regardless of your work ethic, talent, skills, education, and all the rest. Apparently all we can do is keep starting over, save when we can, and just keep trying. I've had 9 employers in the past 12 years...the majority of which kept me way past the time they would if they didn't like my work. It was always another layoff, downsizing, cost cutting etc. That is the new work world. We have to live in it, but we don't have to like it. By the way, I could fill my house with people that think the same. If someone else understands it all, please enlighten me..... I laughed my head off at this article. It MADE my day.
