I dont need your kind
I was working as a purchasing manager for a large residential electric company in Florida. One of the owners was my brother-in-law. The company was struggling, so I used my own money and credit to help. My brother in law sold his half to his partner.
Did I mention the partner liked to lie to the customer about the work being done or not be done? I made that simple mistake and questioned him about it. He laid me off by telling me I wasnt the kind of employee he wanted. I worked hard 50-60 hours per week, sometime Saturday and Sunday if needed. All for 40 hours pay.
He still owes me money and since he hasnt made a payment on my credit card in 3 months, the card company has sent it to collection. Unemployment is 300 a week max. My house payment is 1850. I dont deserve losing my house and credit because I went to the new owner, in his private office, door closed and told him several customers were concerned about the stories he had told them.

You should sue for the money owed. He owes it, isn’t paying it, let a judge order it. Good luck and I’m hoping you don’t lose your home.

Thanks Nicole. I’m down to my last straw, I’ve asked several time for my money. I dont want to sue, the lawyer wants 40%. He doesnt want to pay 40% of my credit card. Its tough.

take it to small claims. depending on what state you’re in, you can claim up to $9,999. Other states have a maximum is $4,999, but I’m guessing even that would help! No lawyers needed, and the court costs (which are often less than you think they are) can usually be applied to the money owed. hope this helps!

A judge can order him to pay what he owes AND your lawyer fees since it’s his fault you had to go to court.
