Having a baby
Hi everyone,
We are all feeling the effects of the economy in the United States right now but Michigan is one of the worst hit states. We’ve been in a depression/recession since the 1970’s and with General Motors declaring bankruptcy it’s going to get a lot worse.
Well, I worked for a health insurance company that was affilited with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. Last week I got laid off from my job because Blue Cross lowered their commissions to agents and Managing Agents.
What’s really hard to take is my wife and I were forced to rent a new house because our landlord decided not to use our rent money for the mortgage. We’ve been at our new house for about a month when I got the news I was being laid off.
Not only that my wife is 5 months pregnant with our first child and we have to switch over to her health insurance (which will cost us about $200.00 more).
Since I’ll be losing about $250.00 every 2 weeks by going to unemployment and we will be losing about $200.00 more going too my wife’s insurance I don’t know what we are going to do about our new house.
We were barely making it with the money we had coming in (and we don’t live a high quality lifesyle) and we now have to live on less money with a child on the way.
I just don’t know what to do.
