No work – no sh!@%
I was on a large IT migration project. It was stressful but going well. One weekend mid-migration it was outsourced and I was discharged, yes discharged so my company could fight unemployment. I was called at home on a Saturday, they couldn’t even talk with me in person and only got one week severence and no benefits. I have a wife and two daughters. How do I take care of them, am I the failure? I feel like one. I now work at a bar for $6 an hour. I was an IT professional for over 17 years and that market is dry. I just want to protect my family. It will be hard when I tell my girls they can’t play soccer this season because daddy can’t afford it. What do to. Something has to get better soon…..I hope.
